HaulWise waste operations

Intelligent Waste Operations with HaulWise

Complete lifecycle visibility and automated, predictive dispatch for the modern hauling fleet. Solar tracked containers, fill level sensing and just in time hauling, delivered inside the MyGeotab platform you already run.

Tracked waste container in operation

Fleets fly blind, and the blind spot bleeds money three ways

Lost assets

Zero visibility into where bins actually sit across a nationwide footprint. Inventory becomes untraceable capital.

Reactive scheduling

Truck rolls dispatched on guesswork and fixed calendars, burning fuel and labor on bins that were never full.

Compliance exposure

Fines for overflowing sites and unauthorized movement that compound silently until they land as a penalty.

Value is built in layers. Each one earns the next.

Layer 1

Foundational visibility

Solar GPS tracking on every box. Rugged trackers broadcast continuously with no charging. Live locations, unlimited geofencing, instant alerting the moment an asset leaves its area, and a breadcrumb trail to recover a stolen box.

Solar tracker mounted on a container
Layer 2

Dynamic monitoring

The unit of analysis changes from the box to the site. One real time view of inventory aggregated by location. Which boxes are on site, which are in transit, which are past rental.

Asset centric and location centric operations
Layer 3

A la carte fill levels

3D radar sensors only where it makes financial sense. Site based capacity view, tonnage predictions, weekly cycle reports and reconciliation of sensor hauls against operator reported hauls.

Just in time hauling

Live fill plus cycle analytics equals service exactly when the bin needs it. Predict and trigger, direct the operator with box number and exact location, verify and reconcile against the tonnage report.

The HaulWise platform

A single operational view that connects nationwide inventory, fill cycle analytics and automated dispatch.

One platform. The trucks and the containers in the same database.

Into MyGeotab through the Data Intake Gateway

  • Containers as devices
  • Zones as the sites
  • Rules for container arrived and container left
  • Groups that follow the org chart
  • One login, one map, one SDK

What operations does differently

  • Fewer truck rolls
  • No overflow fines
  • Boxes found and redeployed
  • Billing that reconciles rental days and hauls
  • Fewer disputes because the truck was there and the box was full

Click a node to read the detail. Drag to pan, wheel to zoom.

Built into MyGeotab. No new login, no second map.

The HaulWise pages below are MyGeotab add ins. The map piece is a Map Add In that lives in the right panel of the MyGeotab Map page and works on the container devices already on that map. The four pages are Activity add ins. Each opens on a sample fleet and reads live data once the trackers are in.

HaulWise Containers Map Add In

HaulWise Containers as a MyGeotab Map Add In. The boxes are ordinary devices on the Geotab map; the panel explains them.

Open full screen
How this panel gets its data
Live reads MyGeotab: every device in the group named below (default Containers), its last position from DeviceStatusInfo, and every zone in the database. A box is placed at the zone its position falls inside; zones typed Customer are customer sites, zones typed Yard or named with Yard, Depot, Transfer, Landfill or MRF are yards. Fill level is the newest StatusData for a diagnostic named Fill Level, delivered by the sensor through the Data Intake Gateway. Days on site is the newest exception of a rule named Container arrived at site, otherwise the last movement date. Clicking a box reads its LogRecords for the last 24 hours and draws the trail on the map. The boxes themselves are the normal device markers on this map; this panel only colours them and explains them.

Sample draws a built in fleet of 61 containers across seven Houston sites on the map so the panel can be shown before a tracker is installed.
What it surfaces
  • Nearing full
  • Past rental
  • Left site
  • In transit
  • Cannot place
  • Per box trail
  • Request haul from the device menu

Container Map

The full page map under Activity puts every box beside the trucks that service it. Select a box for its status, fill level, days on site, battery, last report and 24 hour trail, with the detail panel on the right.

How this page gets its data
Live reads MyGeotab: every device in the group you name below (default Containers), its last position, speed and report time from DeviceStatusInfo, and every zone in the database, drawn on the map. A box is placed at the zone its last position falls inside; zones typed Customer are customer sites, zones typed Yard or named with Yard, Depot, Transfer, Landfill or MRF are yards. Fill level is the newest StatusData for a diagnostic named Fill Level on that device, delivered by the sensor through the Data Intake Gateway. Days on site comes from the newest exception of a rule named Container arrived at site when one exists, otherwise from the last movement date. Clicking a box asks MyGeotab for its LogRecords from the last 24 hours and draws the trail.

Sample is a built in fleet of 64 containers across eight Houston sites so the page can be shown without a tracker installed. Positions, fill levels and trails are generated so that the map has something to say: a box past rental at a customer, a box that left its site after hours, a compactor two days from full.
What it surfaces
  • Nearing full
  • Past rental
  • Left site
  • In transit
  • Cannot place
  • Per box trail
  • Request haul

Container Inventory by Site

Every box grouped by where it sits right now. See the site portfolio clearly enough to separate past rental from available inventory and boxes that need attention.

How this page gets its data
Live reads MyGeotab: every device in the group you name below (default Containers), its last position from DeviceStatusInfo, and every zone in the database. A container is placed at the zone its last position falls inside. Zones typed Customer count as customer sites, zones typed Yard or named with Yard, Depot or Transfer count as yards, anything else is Other, and a box outside every zone is Unknown. Days on site comes from the newest exception of a rule named Container arrived at site when one exists, otherwise from the last movement date.

Sample is a built in fleet of 64 containers across eight Houston sites so the page can be shown without a tracker installed. The gaps it shows are the gaps this page exists to surface: boxes past rental at customer sites, boxes idle in the wrong yard, boxes nobody can place.
What it surfaces
  • Past rental at customer sites
  • Idle in the wrong yard
  • Boxes nobody can place
  • Redeploy list

Fill Level and Just in Time Dispatch

Live fill on every sensored box, the cycle it is on, the day it will need service, and a haul queue triggered by the box rather than a calendar. Dispatch receives the box number, site and exact reported position.

How this page gets its data
Live reads a fill level diagnostic that a third party sensor delivers into MyGeotab through the Data Intake Gateway. Type the diagnostic name below (default Fill Level); the page pulls StatusData for it over the window, one series per container, and treats a drop of more than 40 points as a completed haul. The current cycle is fitted from the last haul forward to estimate the day the box reaches the service threshold. Hauls found in the sensor data are lined up against the haul log so a billed haul without a matching drop, or a drop without a billed haul, shows up.

Sample is 18 sensored boxes with two to three weeks of fill history each so the page can be demonstrated with no sensor on a truck.
What it surfaces
  • Fill
  • Trend
  • Full in
  • Cycle chart
  • Haul queue
  • Reconciliation

Container Protection

Know which boxes left the site they were assigned to, moved after hours or stopped reporting. The breadcrumb trail gives the recovery team a precise starting point.

How this page gets its data
Live reads exceptions from a rule named Container left site (a zone exit rule on the container group), every container's last position from DeviceStatusInfo, and the zones in the database. A container whose last position is outside every zone is flagged as off site. A container whose exit happened between 8 pm and 5 am is flagged as an after hours move. A container silent for more than 48 hours is flagged as not reporting. Click a row to pull its LogRecord trail for the last 48 hours.

Sample is a 58 container fleet with four live incidents so the page can be shown without a rule configured.
What it surfaces
  • Left site
  • After hours movement
  • Not reporting
  • Breadcrumb trail to recover a box

Enterprise fit

A model designed for the way nationwide waste operations are actually organized.

Hierarchical management

Area, business unit, division, customer and facility are represented in the structure that operations already uses.

Role based permissions

Executives, managers and operators each see what they need to act without being buried in unnecessary detail.

Comprehensive onboarding

Site list first, because zones are the whole model. The operation begins with an accurate picture of its footprint.
